Dune-London Premiere: Zendaya makes medieval look sexy

Zendaya’s head turning looks during the Dune press tour have been nothing short of magic.

Self-proclaimed image architect Law Roach has worked magic on Zendaya’s since the beginning of her career. The actress who has been hitting the circuit to promote her latest film Dune was a vision draped in head-to-toe spring/summer 2020 Vivienne Westwood at Sunday’s London Film Festival. The neo-warrior styling is just another nod to Law Roach’s genius. Law Roach creates not only looks –– but moments.

The earthy, neutral tones seemed as though they were plucked straight out of the screen, completing the look with a brown checkered wrap skirt and nude pumps. Zendaya’s chunky chain top, dripping in medallions, was fitted around her like a piece of armor, and she looked every bit her character. The oxidized brass chains gave the corset a “fought in” look –– as though Zendaya herself also trekked through harsh deserts to pose beside Timothée Chalamet

Contrasted by the substantial weight of her top, the breezy skirt flitted around her legs and reminded us of her character Chani’s fitted armor and windswept shawl.

Her following all-white Rick Owens gown for the London premiere had structured shoulders and a short train. Zendaya, looking absolutely regal, looked as though she was made to rule over all of us. And we kneel, of course, at the mercy of her glamour and power.

But this wasn’t Zendaya's first foray into the sci-fi inspired fashion landscape. At the Venice Film Festival in September, Balmain debuted a custom dress for the star. The sculpted, sand dune-inspired ripples thrusted her into everyone’s best dressed list. And she’s not leaving the list any time soon.
