#THROWBACKTHURSDAY Blackstreet and Mýa “Take me there”

Welcome to KODE #THROWBACKTHURSDAYS where we highlight the greatest moments of yesteryear!

“Let's make a wish, close your eyes and count to five”

That cutesy intro you're hearing? Yeah, that's the theme song to Nickelodeon's Rugrats and brings me all the way back to my childhood. “Take Me There” is the happy-go-lucky track by Blackstreet & Mya feat. Mase & Blinky Blink and was also the first and only single to The Rugrats Movie soundtrack.

The song serves as the theme song for the animated feature film The Rugrats Movie and was released on November 30, 1998. The track fuses pop-rap and R&B to create an undeniably 90’s beat that made every kid of the day get up and dance. The music video is pretty sweet! As It incorporates sets from inside the Pickles' home and scenes from the movie! It's like animation meets real life.

The Rugrats Movie soundtrack was quintessential 90’s and was heavily promoted through Nickelodeon and also features tracks by No Doubt, Elvis Costello, Lisa Loeb, and Devo.
