The Visual Expectations of Baz Luhrmann's Elvis

HERE'S WHAT TO VISUALLY EXPECT FROM THE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED ELVIS PRESLEY BIOPIC.

Australian film director Baz Luhrmann is well-known for directing classics such as William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge, and The Great Gatsby. Now he introduces his newest film and American media’s latest biopic: Elvis.

After watching the final trailer for Elvis uploaded by Warner Bros. Pictures on YouTube, the cinematography looks solid. There are shots of young Elvis Presley (Chaydon Jay) getting inspired by the musical influences of southern Black musicians. There are also shots of adult Presley (Austin Butler) wearing his most glamorous outfits, musically vocalizing, and performing his iconic wiggle for all his female fanbase to see and go crazy over him.

Luhrmann knows how to visually direct and recreate one of American music’s most legendary and iconic musicians to get fans and non-fans of Presley and general movie-goers excited.

Elvis is now in theaters!
