Remembering the Fashion Created by Issey Miyake
Let's take a moment to commemorate the late Issey Miyake.
Born in Hiroshima, Japan, Issey Miyake was a fashion designer who was known for his collection of clothes, perfumes, and colognes. At age 84, he passed away from liver cancer on August 5th, 2022.
Miyake's work from this past year includes SPRING SUMMER 2022 and AUTUMN WINTER 2022/23. Speaking of his work, here are some times during this past decade when Hollywood celebrities wore his clothes.
In 2011, architect and long-time fan of Miyake, Zaha Hadid, wore his black bulky coat with fabric seemingly akin to wrapping paper.
At the 2013 Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards ceremony, Mary-Kate Olsen wore a black gown by Miyake.
