The fashion of the 2022 Cannes Film Festival

Five of the best looks from the red carpet, and the films to be on the lookout for.

The 2022 Cannes Film Festival has come and gone and although the festival directs

the attention of the attendees to the silver screen, the looks of the red carpets are not to be

missed. When it comes to Hollywood glamour set in France, these are five dazzling looks

from the red carpet and the films that go with them.

Måneskin

The Italian rock band walked the red carpet during the Elvis movie premiere dressed in a tantalizing display of Gucci outfits. Guitarist Thomas Raggi donned a dusty bronze-colored satin suit with an over-the-top black bowtie and crisp white shirt, finished with snakeskin boots embellished with black stars. Singer Damiano David stunned the crowds in a shimmering gold sequin suit, with a matching black bowtie like Raggi’s, finished with a black platform pair of boots. Victoria De Angelis, the bass player of the band, showed off a rosegold flare-legged pantsuit, with a ruffled billow sleeve blouse, and finished the outfit with a pair of black boots. Last but certainly not least, drummer Ethan Toricho wore a cream-colored suit patterned with blue flowers with a sheer black shirt underneath. The sleeves of Toricho’s suit were perhaps the highlight of his look, adorned with black feathers going from elbow to wrist.

Gemma Chan

You may have seen her in the film Crazy Rich Asians, but Gemma Chan definitely had all eyes on her with her Louis Vuitton gown on the red carpet. Chan wore a sheer all-black gown to the premiere of the film Mother and Son, embellished with black laces around the bodice and hem of the see-through dotted skirt. The daring dress was completed with a pair of sheer black gloves and silver jewelry. If gothic glamor met modern old Hollywood, this dress would be it.

Bella Hadid

What’s a glamorous red carpet in France without Bella Hadid? Well, the fashion icon

and supermodel was sure to turn heads with her arrival, making her Cannes attendance

one to remember. The model wore an incredible black vintage Versace gown, designed in

1887 by the late Gianni Versace himself. The strapless gown features a velvet skirt, draped

bodice, and massive taffeta band that wraps around the back of the dress. Hadid delicately

decorated her look with Chopard jewelry, and kept things fierce with a striking cat-eye

makeup look.

Rose Bertram

One of the most surprisingly elegant looks that didn’t lose the fun factor was model and founder of the brand We The Curl Rose Bertram’s mermaid-green gown. The dress, designed by United Arab Emirates designer Hamda Al Fahim, comes from the designer's collection “Disco Daydreams” and features a high-leg slit, corset-style bodice, and off-the-shoulder neckline, as well as countless beads dangling from the dress’s mesh material. Bertram stepped onto the red carpet in the look for the Armageddon Time movie premiere and sported jewelry from the Parisian brand Messika. The entire look feels like looking at one of the most decadent versions of Ariel from The Little Mermaid.

Ella Fanning

One of Hollywood’s most famous faces could not be skipped over when it comes to any movie premiere in any part of the world. Elle Fanning does nothing but delivers fashionable excellence when it comes to red carpets and the Cannes Film Festival red carpet for the premiere of Top Gun: Maverick was no exception. The actress floated across the red carpet in a custom Giorgio Armani soft pink gown. The dress featured a dropped waist silhouette with dozens of layers of tulle comprising the skirt. The strapless bodice of the dress sparkled with hundreds of beads and embellishments while Fanning sparkled even more with Chopard jewelry. To say Fanning looked like a princess, would be an understatement.
