BLONDE: Ana de Armas as Marilyn Monroe and what to expect for the film
The long-awaited Marilyn Monroe biopic is almost here and it’s going to be beautiful.
Freddie Mercury and Elvis Presley both have two things in common: they were both extraordinarily famous for their musical talents, and both have been brought back to life by famous Hollywood actors for their own biopics to shed some light on their personal and professional lives. As much as I love the classic men of music, the resurrection of famous and highly influential people in the entertainment industry was lacking in the women’s department. However, now we can all eagerly wait for the release of “BLONDE”, where a certain blonde-haired blue-eyed beauty will be brought back to Hollywood, her rightful home.
You may recognize actress Ana de Armas from her performances and roles in movies such as “War Dogs”, “Knives Out”, and the last installment in the James Bond series, “No Time to Die”. But the Cuban-Spanish actress will take on a whole different look as Los Angeles-born Norma Jeane Mortenson, better known as Marilyn Monroe, in the upcoming film “BLONDE” directed by Andrew Dominik.
The film is set to supposedly cover the rise and fall of the Hollywood sex symbol, from her innocent roots to her promiscuous end. The movie will be based on author Joyce Carol Oates’ original best-selling book “Blonde” and will slightly embellish the famous actress’ life between what’s real and what’s not. The movie will even give a slight glimpse into Monroe’s famously short marriage to baseball star Joe DiMaggio, played by actor Bobby Cannavale.
On June 16th, Netflix released a teaser trailer for the new film showing de Armas with the conspicuous blonde bob as well as glimpses of Monroe’s “Diamond Are A Girl’s Best Friend” with the iconic pink dress. From what I can tell, this will be a movie you won’t want to miss.
