Amazon is tapping into the Hypeast community with its latest Original Fairfax premiering on October 29. The adult animated comedy series cast includes Skyler Gisondo, Kiersey Clemons, Peter S. Kim, and Jaboukie Young-White as four middle school best friends on their never-ending quest for clout on Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles—the pulsing heart and mecca of hypebeast culture.
Fairfax is about the timeless struggle to be cooler than you are and fit in while standing out, and what it feels like to wait in line for a pair of sneakers you’re never going to cop. As a bonus, Amazon is set to drop items from the series’ fictional streetwear brand Latrine—the first release being the Dr. Phil box T-shirt seen in the trailer. Dr. Phil himself tweeted about his new clothing venture, stating, “It’s time…this Thursday, I’m entering the world of streetwear.”
Executive produced by longtime friends Matthew Hausfater, Aaron Buchsbaum, and Teddy Riley who are producing along with Jon Zimelis and Jason U. Nadler for Serious Business and Peter A. Knight, Chris Prynoski, Ben Kalina, and Antonio Cannobio for the animation studio Titmouse. With characters designed by artist somehoodlum, pop/internet culture clothing, and media brand Pizzzaslime will act as a consulting producer for the series.
All eight episodes of Fairfax will premiere on October 29, exclusively on Prime Video, check out the trailer below.
